Research Opportunities

At the Boston Specialists Department of Research, we are passionate about training the future minds that will revolutionize the medical field. We are interested in training students who are interested in becoming a physician engaged in research or physician-scientist through hands-on project-based experiences. In the past, we have hosted students from various educational backgrounds, including high school students, undergraduate students, graduate students, and residents.

Program details

Because we host students from various backgrounds with a diverse set of interests, our program is tailored to each student. In the past, our volunteers have been able to contribute to a variety of clinical research projects, through data abstraction/collection, experimental design, data analysis, and manuscript preparation. Many of our exceptional students are co-authors on several abstracts and peer-reviewed publications.

Applicant criteria

While we hope to host as many students as possible, our project-based experiences are limited, and training is resource intensive. Therefore, our program is highly competitive. We look for individuals that are of good academic standing, are committed to our program, and passionate about biomedical research. We look favorably on individuals who are fast and dedicated learners. To apply, email your CV and cover letter to us at teamd@bfac.org.
